Aurora rose-fingered
Presented on the occasion of the contemporary art exhibition Ambientarti 2026 during Milan Design Week, Aurora Rose-Fingered is a one-of-a-kind textile artwork inspired by the ancient myth of Eos, goddess of the dawn.
The piece takes its name from the Homeric epithet rhododáktylos — “rose-fingered” — traditionally used to evoke Eos (Aurora), the deity who heralds the first light of morning and dispels the darkness of night. This poetic image becomes the conceptual core of the work: a suspended threshold between shadow and illumination, where the rose emerges as a symbol of rebirth, cyclical renewal, and transformation.
Created from a regenerated pure silk dress sourced from a vintage garment, the piece has been transformed through an original embroidery composition conceived by Maria Scuto and entirely hand-embroidered by Bruna Manera, a sculptor trained at the Accademia di Brera.
Developed within the ongoing artistic research of Telling Roses, the work reflects the atelier’s commitment to a practice in which beauty, sustainability, craftsmanship, and storytelling converge into a contemporary language that moves fluidly between art and fashion.
